Renowned for its long cultural tradition, Limassol has a number of museums, archaeological and religious sites for the interested visitor.
Limassol is the second largest city in Cyprus and, with its main port, is the island's biggest trade and commerce area, as well as cruise centre. It is host to a large number of shipping companies and service providers.
Limassol is also considered the island's most festive city. The natural gaiety of the Limassolians can best be seen in its Carnival, which takes place in early spring, and the Wine Festival in late August. The Summer Cultural Festival which lasts from July to the end of September hosts orchestras, bands, modern and classical ballet and theatre from all over the world, including Shakespearean nights and ancient Greek drama at the Curium Amphitheatre.
Climate
